The Baby Bullet

My trip to the USGS Western mothership last week was an excellent one on many levels. Actually attended a meeting focused entirely on geologic mapping that was thorougly enjoyable. However, it was the moments at the train station where the freaking Baby Bullet trains fly by your face at 80 mph that was probably the most intriguing thing to happen. I figure that if you jump in front of this thing you either convert to a plasma or are hurtled into an alternate dimension. Note the conspicuous absence of any type of protection alongside the tracks. Awesome. Can't believe that my new camera could freeze this image...expected a completely blurred shot.
