This morning along the urban stretch of the Truckee River

I was riding the Truckee River bike trail early this morning and
grabbed two photos of deer. The first is pretty basic, but the second
with the antlered deer in the river is pretty amazing...check it out.

Both pictures are from well within the urban corridor of Reno-Sparks.

Tessa takes on the new penny and defends Lincoln

Tessa saw one of the new pennies the other day...you know, the 2010 ones with the shield on the back? Well, anyway, here is the conversation as I can best recall:

Tessa (still 7 yrs): I looked at one of the old pennies with our microscope and I could see Lincoln.

Kyle: Really? How do you know it was Lincoln? I heard that you could see the devil...

Tessa: Huh?

Kyle: Oh yeah, some paranoid religious fanatics say you can see all kinds of devil stuff on our money.

Tessa: No, it was Lincoln. I could see his beard and his big hat.

Kyle: Really? I don't believe you could see that much detail. Could have been the devil.

Tessa: No way, dad. Even though Lincoln was a republican, I don't think he was the devil.

True story. She really said that! My kids are so cool.
